Marketing Coordinator's News

It's been another busy month promoting MCRS! First off, I want to welcome two new marketing volunteers. John D., who is a volunteer at West St. Paul PETCO, and Sydney M. who is a volunteer agility instructor, will be helping me with some marketing projects. For now, John will be concentrating on getting our Facebook profile up to date. In addition, he has offered to help with video clips of our adoptable bunnies to be posted on Petfinder, Facebook, MySpace and BunSpace. Sydney will be helping us get a webpage set up in MySpace and take over BunSpace from me. Their assistance is much appreciated by all, including the bunnies!

For some time now, we have been looking at ways to get attendance up at our Bunny Basics classes. We have been working with AHS and suggesting it where we can. Now that the Events Calendar goes out monthly, along with postings in the major print and online news editions, I needed to get the word out more. Thanks to Deb Balzer at Animal Humane Society, Bunny Basic Classes will be in the upcoming Chuck & Don's Petfood Outlet Quarterly Customer Newsletter and ones that follow. She was the one who had them post Agility and Hoppy Hour as well in last quarter's newsletter.

In addition, Paul Dupor and I will be heading down to Iowa City, IA on Saturday, March 7th (weather permitting) to participate in their Animal Care Fair. We will bring a small display, some pictures, and a donation box, and will be there to answer questions about rabbits and their care. He and I will be working in conjunction with the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center. During the Fair, I will be doing a shortened version of Bunny Basics. They anticipate that the area rescues and other shelters will have volunteers attending. They have few local resources for their growing number of surrendered of rabbits, so they are thrilled to have us! I will report on it afterward, so stay tuned.

I continue to work on getting some more TV exposure for us through press releases of various events and activities. We hope to launch several campaigns this year. In April, we will be busy with the "Make Mine Chocolate" Campaign. This usually runs around Easter each year. I know there are several events scheduled including one at Southdale Mall. Others campaigns are in the thinking and brainstorming stages at this time.

In April, also look for the launch of "Supply Item of the Month" in this newsletter!
